Euroports employee introductions continue! This series highlights professionals working across various Euroports locations and provides insight into their roles and responsibilities. Today, we are pleased to introduce Valtteri Puikko, based in Rauma. He shares the following about himself.
"My name is Valtteri Puikko, and I work as a machine stevedore and pulp handling station operator at Euroports. My main responsibilities include loading vehicles and operating the automated lifting and wire removal station."
Valtteri joined Euroports in October last year, making him a relatively new member of the team. He says he has settled in well and enjoys his new workplace.
"The best part of my job is working with machinery, as well as learning and practicing new tasks."
Operating the pulp handling station requires technical expertise, and Valtteri’s background as an electrician strongly supports this skill set. In the operator role, continuous monitoring of the equipment and process control are key responsibilities.
"Thanks to my background, I know how to monitor sensor performance and recalibrate them when necessary. This ensures that the equipment operates as it should."
