The Transport and Logistics Trade Union AKT Ry has decided to initiate a handling blockade starting Monday 27.1.2025 at 6:00 AM. The blockade will end on Saturday 1.2.2025 at 4:00 PM unless an agreement is reached earlier. The blockade applies to all Finnish ports.

The handling blockade aims to accelerate the collective agreement negotiations of the Industrial Union regarding the technology industry, chemical basic industry, plastics product industry and chemical product industry, as well as the oil, natural gas, and petrochemical industry.

During the handling blockade, employees will not handle goods or cargo from the following companies in any Finnish port:

• Cabb Oy
• Jervois Finland Oy
• Metso Finland Oy
• Meyer Turku Oy
• Mäkelä Alu Oy
• Okmetic Oy
• Outokumpu Chrome Oy
• Outokumpu Stainless Oy
• Ovako Imatra Oy Ab
• SSAB Europe Oy
• TETRA Chemicals Europe Oy
• Tikkurila Oyj
• Umicore Battery Materials Finland Oy
• Umicore Finland Oy
• Valmet Technologies Oy (excluding Lapua site)
• Wärtsilä Finland Oy
• Yara Suomi Oy

Products of the companies under the handling blockade cannot be delivered from or received at the terminal during the blockade.

All goods arriving by Sunday 26.1. will be handled as usual.

The handling blockade does not target the current collective agreement. The handling blockade excludes tasks whose omission would endanger life, health, or the environment.
