Euroports’ sustainability objectives are based on Euroports Group’s strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 Agenda. Euroports has signed the United Nations’ Global Compact initiative and supports the initiative’s ten principles concerning human rights, working life, environment and the fight against corruption.

We are committed to promoting the sustainable development objectives set by the UN, which meet the expectations of our stakeholders and which we can have the greatest impact on. We review the progress of our objectives annually and share the results with our partners and customers.

Instead of pursuing quick successes, we strive to establish methodical and systematic practices that help us reach our goals,” says Jarmo Kivi, responsible for technical services and safety.

Euroports Finland Oy’s companies are committed to mitigating negative environmental effects and establishing a safe and healthy working environment. In order to minimise environmental effects, we have implemented many concrete measures, such as:

• introduction of new technology and optimisation of operations (warehouses and internal transfers)
• procurement of two Mantsinen 200 hybrid cranes
• gradual transition to a controlled LED lighting system in warehouses
• use of renewable fuel in working machinery
• improved and more efficient waste management and recycling in all locations
• the first electric cars have been ordered for internal transport 

“The principles of responsibility and sustainable development are present in everything we do. In service production, we focus on reducing carbon emissions from combustion of fossil fuels and minimising our own environmental effects. We strongly believe that by being sustainable and responsible every day, we can lay a solid foundation for achieving our sustainable development goals by 2030,” says Kivi.
