Euroports participated in the annual Port Safety Week, organised by the Finnish Port Operators Association, from 5 to 9 October 2026. This year's theme, "Can You Spot It Before It Happens?", highlighted the importance of anticipation and vigilance in maintaining safety in dynamic working environments.
Throughout the week, employees took part in a range of safety-focused activities, including a safety orientation exercise that refreshed awareness of the locations of safety and first aid equipment across the workplace while strengthening preparedness to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
In Rauma, a terminal safety walk led by Managing Director Tomi Rautio brought together management and employee representatives to identify potential risks, discuss observations, and support the continuous improvement of safety performance. In Hanko, Euroports participated in a joint terminal safety walk together with the Port of Hanko and other companies operating within the port area.
During Port Safety Week, Euroports Group’s Sustainability & QHSE Director Gabriel Kierkels visited Rauma and presented Euroports’ new Vision Zero QHSE Strategy to the management team, terminal managers, and the QHSE team.
Vision Zero is an international approach that aims to prevent all accidents and serious incidents through proactive safety leadership. Euroports Group’s new QHSE strategy is based on the Vision Zero model and its principles. In Finland, the Zero Accidents Forum encourages and supports workplaces in striving for a high level of occupational safety and employee wellbeing. Euroports Finland is a member of the Zero Accidents Forum.
While Port Safety Week may be ending, the work to continuously improve safety never stops. Observation, vigilance and proactive risk identification will remain key focus areas as we continue to strengthen our safety culture together.
