Toni Sandvik works as a machine stevedore at Euroports' Pietarsaari site. He has been with Euroports for six years and says he enjoys his work immensely. Toni describes his responsibilities as follows:

"My responsibilities include operating various types of cargo handling machinery, with forklifts and terminal tractors being the tools I am most familiar with. In addition, my role also involves manual tasks such as slinging and lashing."

Euroports’ Pietarsaari site is the smallest of the company’s Finnish locations, employing approximately 50 people. The compact work community has evolved into a close-knit unit where colleagues from all levels such as office staff, supervisors, management and stevedores gather around the same coffee table each day.

"The best part of the job is the close-knit work community, which is known for its good sense of humor and situational awareness. And of course, the variety of tasks is a definite plus. One day you’re operating a Mantsinen, and the next you find yourself slinging bundles of sawn timber," Toni says.

At Euroports, the smooth running of daily operations is built on strong collaboration and a hands-on approach. Skilled professionals like Toni play a key role in ensuring the success of this overall effort.

"Working at Euroports offers a diverse and highly flexible environment, with the added advantage of approachable supervisors. In Pietarsaari, we enjoy a genuinely positive and supportive atmosphere."
